transfer-a-licious

I just got my notice today that I'll be living in Webster (I wanted the apartments, but didn't hold my breath since I'm a 20 year old transfer student). I didn't get to visit the dorms when I did my in-person interview months ago, so I have no idea at all what they're like. I haven't even been to the Oakland campus yet, for that matter.

Can anybody shed some light on the Webster situation? I saw the pictures a few posts back, but any other info would be greatly appreciated. Like kitchen and bathroom situations, if the neighborhood really is bad like I've heard, etc.

I'm excited, but sorta freaked. :)

the neighborhood is really not that bad, as long as you are sensible, go places with another person, this is a city afterall. Its a good location-near the bart- so going to SF is no problem. The fourth floor kitchen is bigger than the fifth floors (the 5th floor kitchen is tiny) but as long as the other people you are living with arent pigs they arent that bad. There are two art rooms in webster too which is nice so you dont mess up your room. The bathroom situation bothers everyone. There is a girls and a boys bathroom on each floor with a couple showers/toilets/sinks in each. There are also some co-ed bathrooms with just a single shower/toilet/sink in them. Its kind of like showering in a public bathroom but its not that bad.

nope but i swear you get used to it and there are always the private bathrooms (two per floor i believe) if you are especially shy.

Wow, only a couple showers for everybody on a floor? Lame. Oh well, I guess I was expecting something like that. The art rooms will be nice.

Thank you, I'm totally nervous about this situation and pretty much anything anyone tells me makes me at least feel more informed, so a little bit better. :)
